Just enter your city/state or zipcode, and a doctor’s location (or several) within your area will be listed. Then call our toll free number for a free evaluation from our QualSight Care Manager who will help you schedule an appointment. Our doctors utilize state-of-the-art FDA approved laser eye surgery equipment in well-staffed, professional facilities with proven track records. They’re typically leading surgeons in their communities and have collectively performed over one million laser vision correction procedures. What Refractive Surgery is Best for Me? At QualSight, you will receive a comprehensive eye exam at no cost to you if you do not proceed with the surgery. Your Ophthalmologist will test for your level of vision, Astigmatism, corneal thickness, among several other measurements to help determine the right treatment option for you, whether traditional LASIK, custom LASIK, IntraLase, PRK, or Monovision. You will discuss your options with your surgeon, and QualSight will also help answer any questions or concerns along the way. Will My Surgery Hurt? LASIK surgery is painless surgery. You’ll be given numbing drops before the treatment (no needles), and the laser emits only cool pulses of light that do not harm the surrounding tissue. An outpatient procedure, you’ll probably be in surgery for less than 15 minutes, and in and out of your doctor’s office within two hours. The most common discomfort after the procedure is a sensation of dryness or that you have a bit of dust in your eye. This typically dissipates within a few hours. Is Laser Vision Correction Safe? Refractive eye surgery is a very safe. One of the most common elective surgeries, 10.9 million laser vision correction procedures have been successfully performed in the United States. Over 90% of patients achieve 20/20 or better vision, and although any surgical procedure carries some degree of risk, clinical studies show that less than 1% of refractive procedures result in some kind of vision-reducing complication. No reported cases of blindness from the surgery have occurred. How Soon Will I See Results? As with most patients, you will see results immediately following the laser vision correction. You’ll be able to return to work the next day, and your vision will continue to improve as your eyes heal. Is My Surgery Permanent? Clinical studies show that the improvement in vision from LASIK surgery is extremely stable. In fact, the behavior of an eye that has had LASIK or Custom LASIK parallels the behavior of a normal eye that has not had surgery. Based on what has been learned from performing eye surgery over time, we know that if an eye is stable in its vision at 2 years, then it should remain stable at 20 years and beyond. Nonetheless, QualSight offers a one-year after surgery warranty for retreatments. Should you need an enhancement, you are only responsible for the nominal royalty fee to the laser manufacturer. You also have the option to renew this warranty for additional years for no cost except for the price of an annual exam and the same nominal royalty fee to the laser manufacturer should you need a retreatment. For added details, see the QualSight Retreatment Warranty. When Can I Return to Work? Most patients are able to return to work the day immediately following surgery, and are able to see well enough to drive that day. Please check What to Expect if you want more details on the day-to-day care you need to take after surgery. What about advertisement promising LASIK for $499? It is vital that when doing comparison shopping for LASIK eye surgery that you compare what is included in the price. For those offering rock-bottom prices, it is often the case that they require additional fees based on different levels of vision correction and laser types, as well as charges for the consultation itself and follow up care, including potential retreatments. QualSight offers set, contracted rates for LASIK regardless of your level of required vision correction or type of laser equipment plus our rates are all inclusive. Your price includes the free comprehensive eye exam, the LASIK procedure itself, all of your follow up appointments, as well as a one-year retreatment warranty. No hidden charges. Finally, while LASIK is a safe, proven procedure, it is eye surgery requiring a skilled surgeon. QualSight prides itself on offering LASIK in a cost-effective way, but it has also gone to great lengths to ensure that its providers are skilled surgeons with the latest LASIK technologies at their fingertips. When considering your health, price should never be the only consideration. |
